For the third straight year, football fans enjoyed a competitive Super Bowl game that has often left fans disappointed after sitting through many blowouts in recent years.

The Indianapolis Colts were the team that was picked to win the game, but the New Orleans Saints really gave folks a surprise when they beat them. Drew Brees , along with the rest of the offense, played an outstanding game, but that’s not to say that their defense didn’t play just as well, doing a great job taking on Peyton Manning, the Colt’s quarterback.

So, let’s discuss down some of the highlights of Super Bowl XLIV. Perhaps you didn’t get to see the game; if that is the case, then these are the things that you would want to know about.

He started off a little shaky, but once that passed, Drew Brees had an almost perfect game. He began it by only getting three completions from the first seven attempts, but then he went on to complete 29 out of the next 32 attempts. If you were to ask a football fan to name the best two quarterbacks in the league, you’d likely be told that Drew Brees and Peyton Manning earn this distinction. Through the course of the season, these two players led their teams to many wins, and ultimately the Super Bowl.

Very rarely do we see two of the best quarterbacks in the sport facing off against one another in the Super Bowl. This year, the football world will be privileged enough to enjoy such an opportunity. Not only is this the case, but many believed that both teams were tops in the league through the course of the season.

Both the Saints and Colts won their first 14 games, leading many to speculate as to whether these teams would go undefeated through the course of the entire season.

While neither team ended up with an unbeaten record, it clearly didn’t matter in the end. The best team in each conference was good enough in the playoffs to make it through to the game that every football player dreams about.

Out of the entire history of the NBA, only 11 people have won Most Valuable Player awards multiple times. Steve nash rookie card is one of these people. He stands at six-foot-three and weighs less than 200 pounds.

In his first two seasons playing with the Phoenix Suns, things were not the best for him. It was in 1996 that he had arrived from Santa Clara and was met with Jason Kidd on the team, who did quite well at that time. Within this time he averaged less than 10 points a game and three assists.

In 1998, he was traded off to Dallas. While playing in Dallas, his game took a turn to all-star status. In 2004, listed as a free agent, he decided to go back with the Suns. The Suns now, would and could not imagine playing without him.

In 2004-05 and 2005-06, Steve Nash grabbed hold of the MVP title. A lot of this accounted to the improvement in his game. He became much better at layups and three pointers, which seemed to have a lot to do with Mike D’Antoni.  Read more...

The name Savannah Brinson might sound familiar to you if you have been paying especial attention to celebrity news recently, but if it does not then you do not have to worry too much. She is better known as LeBron James girlfriend.

The couple are high school sweethearts and have been together for a long while. This goes against the norms in celebrity circles and even more so is the fact that they work closely together in the LeBron James Family Foundation. This is a charity organisation that helps out those who are less fortunate.

The couple has two sons, LeBron James Jr. Who was born in 2004 and Bryce Maximus James who was born in 2007. In July 2009, rumours are ciculating that Savannah is believed to be pregnant with their third child.

While there are usually certain disadvantages to being the girlfriend of such a high profile athlete, there doesn’t seem to be much news in the tabloids about the couple or LeBron James’ girlfriend. They have successfully managed to keep their everyday lives relatively private and often only end up on the glossy pages if they have attended a function or event. There is nothing as fabulous as a good baseball game. There is excitement in the air and then there is lots of team work to be considered as well. Planning baseball tournaments are also very interesting and there are some very simple rules that we can follow to make the whole program very enjoyable.

Now the basic rules to plan a baseball tournament will include the number of teams that you can get to play a game. The lowest number is 4 and the more that you have the better. You can always contact your local community people to know the teams in the area or you can also choose colleges that have their own teams in place.

The date needs to be finalized in time. People have other commitments and it is important that everybody is available on that particular date. Weekends or long holidays are a good start to look for the ideal date that will suit everybody. You will also have a good crowd to look forward to on those days.  Read more...

Many fans of baseball were surprised by Mark McGwire’s recent confession. The slugger had used steroids for the greater part of his baseball career, as this gave him an unfair edge and contributed to the mammoth seasons that we as fans witnessed.

Most baseball players are thought to have used steroids in order to pump up their offensive stats, thereby securing more valuable contracts in the process. In McGwire’s case, things were different. He simply wanted to recover from any injuries in less time than he’d otherwise be able to.

You may remember that the beginning of McGwire’s career was marked by many injuries that saw him missing the majority of some seasons as a result. His potential was never realized because of this, despite the fact that he averaged more home runs per at bat than any other player of his time.

His strategy seemingly paid off. During the 1990s, McGwire experienced fewer injuries than he had in the prior years, despite the fact that he was older. He also saw a significant boost in his home run total.  Read more...

The press has had a field day with Dirk Nowitzki girlfriend news. Dirk is trying to keep quiet about the whole matter but the fact of the matter is no one else is feeding into his silence.

What we do know is that Dirk Nowitzki was involved with a woman by the name of Cristal Taylor. The two were seen together often and looked like two kids in love as many of Dirk’s friends would later go on to explain.

Apparently Nowitzki bought 37 year old Taylor a $250, 000 engagement ring and the two were supposed to wed sometime soon. However, it was not a happy ending for the couple. In fact Dirk Nowitzki girlfriend drama began shortly after the star asked Taylor to marry him.

Dirk’s friends insisted that before the star commenced in the wedding ceremony that he should get an extensive back ground check on his girlfriend. The background check proved that Taylor had a dark and dreary past.

Taylor was arrested in May for two outstanding warrants that she had, and in fact Taylor was also previously married which she had never bothered to tell her future husband about either. If we rewind by a few years in the women’s tennis world, we’ll arrive at a time where Justine Henin was the world’s best female tennis player. Not only was she the best, but she was rather dominant.

Suddenly, Henin decided to call it a career during the summer of 2008. Many were shocked by this revelation, as there was simply no reason for her to retire. After all, it’s not as if she was slowing down.

According to Henin, she had grown tired of all of the training and traveling that came with the grueling lifestyle of being a pro tennis player. As a result, she thought that a retirement would be the best personal move.

There were personal initiatives that she preferred to focus on, including a camp for children where she’d teach them how to play tennis.

There was definitely a void in the world of women’s tennis. The number ones of the world weren’t truly the best in the minds of some fans, because they wondered if Henin would still be at the top of the ranks.
