There are many ways that NFL players help with the United Way. First of all, they donate a lot of their valuable time to personally venture out into the community to help those in need. This is not something that they’re required to do as National Football League players, but most of them just enjoy making families happy. They feel good about themselves when they are able to help needy families put food on the tables for their hungry children. They feel especially good upon seeing smiles on happy children’s faces at Christmas time. Many children would not otherwise have a Christmas if it weren’t for the generosity of the NFL players. Who would have thought it would come to this? What has professional sports come to with cheating? NBA, MLB, and Hockey have been caught cheating and now the NFL is joining the rest of the professional sports leagues as a sport that cheats.

As a former NFL player, I would always hear the saying, “If you’re not cheating, you’re not trying.” Pretty sad isn’t it? Well, I think the Patriots took that statement to heart and that is why they got caught. Unfortunately, cheating is much more common in the NFL than fans realize.

When I played in the NFL, there were many teams that I played against that by “magic” seemed to know what our plays were. There were teams that I played against where I would ask myself, “How on earth do they know what plays we are running?”

You should know that cheating runs rampant in the NFL and it is not just the Patriots that are cheating. Yes, they got caught because they made their cheating too obvious. But make no mistake about it, it is a fact that all NFL teams cheat to some extent.  Read more...

Ideally, a sporting holiday is a holiday that allows you take part in any number of sports. The term ‘Sports vacation’ includes adventure sports such as kayaking, rafting, snowboarding, hot air balloons and bungee jumping. This appears a fairly extreme idea, which is accompanied by the thought of a lot of energy required. I am a retired NFL player and I was a lineman. In this article I am going to explain what you need to do to become a lineman in the NFL.

First of all, to be an NFL a lineman you must have heart and passion as this is the most important part of being a NFL lineman. Heart and passion for the game and winning is more important than size and strength. Good looks will not help you but looking mean will help (that’s a joke).

The average lineman is 6′0″ to 6′8″ tall and weighs 290 to 350 lbs and all NFL lineman fall into this range. If you are 5′8″ and 165 lbs, being an NFL lineman is not in your genes or your future. I have always felt that linemen are football’s blue collar workers. We perform the hard dirty work that must be done for the team to be successful but we almost never receive any glory.
