Sometimes called ‘Rafa,’ Rafael Nadal is a local of Spain who has made a massive impact in the world of tennis.

Born June three, 1986 in Manacor, Mallorca, Rafael Nadal is the child of Sebastian and Ana Maria Nadal.

Standing 6′1′ and weighing 178 lbs, Rafael Nadal turned into a professional tennis player in 2001 after having played since 4 years old. Fans should not let this young age fool them as Rafael Nadal nabbed his first championship at only eight years old.

Under the guidance and teaching of Toni Nadal, his uncle, Rafael Nadal commenced learning to play tennis extraordinarily early in life as is evident from his early championship.

Toni, who remains Rafael’s coach, is a particularly crucial part of this kid’s success.

In 2005, he won 11 titles and also captured recognition as the ‘Most Improved Player’ for 2005 as named by the ATP.

Vince Carter has, for a number of years now, been one of the most widely known and respected names in the leagues of professional basketball. Much of this fame started back in 2000 with the world famous Vince Carter Slam Dunk Contest.

Taking place in Oakland, California over an All-Star weekend, it rapidly came to be widely known as one of the best known dunk contests in the history of the NBA. At the time, Vince Carter was playing for the team, the Toronto Raptors. This team was also the eventual winner. At the time, he was playing with his cousin and also his teammate, Tracy McGrady and Steve Francis of Houston Rockets fame.

The Slam Dunk Contest of 2000 was Vince’s first attempt at this particular contest which made it even more impressive. Most notably, Vince made the first ever full 360, also windmilling the ball, utterly amazing the spectators.

Out of the entire history of the NBA, only 11 people have won Most Valuable Player awards multiple times. Steve nash rookie card is one of these people. He stands at six-foot-three and weighs less than 200 pounds.

Arriving from Santa Clara to join the Phoenix Suns in 96, he stood overshadowed by Jason Kidd. In his first two seasons, he averaged three assists and less than 10 points a game. There was only 11 games that he started in within this time.

In 1998, he was traded off to Dallas. While playing in Dallas, his game took a turn to all-star status. In 2004, listed as a free agent, he decided to go back with the Suns. The Suns now, would and could not imagine playing without him.

LeBron James, nicknamed King James by his adoring fans, and Savannah Brinson have been dating for a seemingly long time and are in fact high school sweethearts. They head up the LeBron James Family Foundation together.

The couple has two sons, LeBron James Jr. Who was born in 2004 and Bryce Maximus James who was born in 2007. In July 2009, rumours are ciculating that Savannah is believed to be pregnant with their third child.

While there are usually certain disadvantages to being the girlfriend of such a high profile athlete, there doesn’t seem to be much news in the tabloids about the couple or LeBron James’ girlfriend. They have successfully managed to keep their everyday lives relatively private and often only end up on the glossy pages if they have attended a function or event. Apparently Dirk Nowitzki whom is a Dallas Mavericks star was actually dating a woman by the name of Cristal Taylor. Taylor is honestly nothing special; she is simply an ordinary woman that has been seen around the star from time to time.

Nowitzki was head over heels for 37 year old Taylor. He proposed to her with a $250, 000 ring. The couple was supposed to tie the knot in the near future. However it seems after the star had asked Taylor to marry him a lot of skeltons began to seep from the woman’s closet.
